Painting Cylinder Head & Timing cover

Today I started work on the cylinder head. There we see it masked up ready to be painted to match the engine block.

I used a set of old spark plugs to stop any paint going on the threads as it would make it a job & a half to get the paint off them when it is dry.

A couple of coats of etch primer applied.

After the primer was dry the top coat was mixed up. I decided not to get the spray gun out for this job as is would be a waste of paint and hard to get into all the tight places.
So it was a small paint brush and a lot of patience and a steady hand.

The inlet side of the head all painted.

The exhaust side painted and the old spark plugs removed.

The new timing cover that was won by Julie on a well known auction site on the net, cleaned and painted ready to be fitted on.
