Head gasket on the engine block ready for the head to be fitted. The two studs that are in the block are used to help keep the head gasket in place and locate the head to the block.These are made out of a couple of old head bolts which have had the bolt heads cut off and a slot cut into the top.

New exhaust studs fitted to the head along with the lifting brackets.
Chained up and lifted off the work bench.
The block wheeled under the head.
And then lowered down slowly into place.
The head bolts fitted and the locating studs removed with a screwdriver.The head bolts are then tightened progressively in sequence in four stages to the correct torque settings.


Cam cover bolted on with a new gasket and cam belt tensioner fitted.
Spark plug fitted plus the inlet and exhaust ports masked up to stop any muck getting into the valves and cylinders.
