When I was testing the auto choke on the carburettor I found a crack in the casting which was letting water out in a big way and as it works off the cooling system this was going to make problems later on with the project.The above photo shows the water housing removed from the choke.
As the auto choke can be a problem itself, with not coming on properly when starting the engine from cold we went with fabricating our own manual choke set up using some of the parts from the auto choke.
The finished manual choke. This will have a cable fitted to it and fed into the inside of the car., also fitted is a stop, to stop the choke butterfly's closing fully. At this time this set up is working well but will pass judgement when the engine is up and running .
